Kids MatchPoint Challenge

Kids MatchPoint Challenge is now live on the App Store after being being rejected twice. It took some convincing in order to get this game approved as Apple is very careful in respect to the use of 3rd party materials in iOS apps.

Zoo Golf

Our latest game under development came about after Apple rejected our first submission for Kids MatchPoint Challenge. Not knowing if and when Apple would approve the game I didn't want to see all of Chris's hard work go down the drain, so I thought to myself, how I could reuse some of this wonderful art work.

I came across a Mini Golf Starter kit and had the idea to use the animals from Kids MatchPoint Challenge as the basis for the mini golf course platforms. My daughter Sammy drew some extra animals in Illustrator, my brother Brett help make some new course sections via blender, my brother Mike helped generate some good ideas for game play and my mom has been an ardent and through tester. The game still needs a lot of work but we are getting a leg up by using the following packages from the Unity3D asset store (in no particular order).

EZ GUI, Autopilot, HOTween, Camera Path, Toon Shader, Finger Gestures and Pro Builder. I also have plans to integrate Megafiers, TNet. Mobile Terrain  and Localization. (insert asset store links)

Chris continues to help, having created and textured some 3D models to help decorate the courses. As it gets farther along I will start getting some other folks to help play test it.

Welcome

Welcome to the iByte Productions blog. We have a couple of casual games under development.

iByte's initial foray into the world of game development was attempting to apply some gaming to the business of app sales. Our first game was matchPoint Challenge.

Not exactly eye candy but it was a very good lesson in app development on a number of fronts. (fill details in)

Our next attempt was a Kids version of the same type of app but with much better visuals. Our friend Chris Hildenbrand did a lot of the graphics for the this game. So far Apple has not approved the game due to issues on how they say we are using the iTtunes affiliate imagery. What's interesting here is that an update to matchPoint Challenge was submitted at the same time, was approved and it uses exactly the same concepts that Apple is having issues with in Kids MatchPoint Challenge. We are still trying to get it approved and we will see what happens with our recent re-submission.
